Media Release: Sexpo welcomes Tony Abbott
Sexpo Welcomes Tony Abbott: Campaign at Sexpo, not shopping centres
Sexpo Australia has laid out the red carpet for Federal Opposition Leader Tony Abbott after he complained he was missing sex during his election campaign.
“Its an election year, and Mr Abbott thinks sex is one of life’s pleasures, so who better to officially open Brisbane Sexpo on the 4th March,” said Rob Godwin, General Manager Sexpo .
Sexpo is proud to offer Mr Abbott and his entire campaign entourage VIP access to all areas where he can experience and witness all that Queensland’s largest adult lifestyle and sexuality exhibition has to offer.
“We are offering the Federal Opposition Leader the chance to campaign to thousands of his Brisbane constituents, in what has historically been an ALP stronghold. At the same time he can explain his comments on ‘ironing housewives’ to the majority of Sexpo female patrons and rid himself of his old fashioned image.”
“The Liberal Party can learn something from the Australian Sex Party (ASP) and gain substantial support from being at Sexpo. The main political parties need to wake up to having a progressive approach to sex and censorship, as seen in the policies of the ASP”
Fiona Patten from the Australian Sex Party has recently contested the former federal treasurer Peter Costello’s seat in the Higgins bi-election, and is a is a long-time anti-censorship activist
“We’ll definitely ensure this leg of his campaign trail will be memorable one!” Mr Godwin concluded.
This year's Sexpo is being held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from March 4th - 7th
Sexpo supports the McGrath Foundation.
